Chiropractic Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which trained specialists (Chiropractors) use their hands to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of chiropractic adjustment, also known as spinal manipulation, is to correct structural alignment and improve your body's physical function.
Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Many spinal problems seen in adults began as early as birth. Most birthing methods can stress an infant’s spine and developing nerve system. The resulting irritation to the nerve system caused by spinal and cranial misalignment can be the cause of many newborn health complaints. Colic, breathing problems, nursing difficulties, sleep disturbances, allergic reactions and chronic infections can often be traced to nerve system stress. Regular chiropractic checkups can identify spinal misalignments (subluxations), make the correction early in life and help avoid many of the health complaints seen later in adults. Dr. Chandra Sasseville, DC DICCP (Board Certified in Pediatrics) specializes in pediatric chiropractic adjustments to restore nervous system function and allow the child’s body to express a greater state of health and well-being without nerve interference.
Trigger Point Deep Tissue Therapy
Trigger point therapy through manual trigger point stimulation on the affected region of the body where trigger points are prevalent. Also, myofascial release by sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Rehabilitation Activities
Dynamic activity to increase tolerance to activities of daily living through closed kinetic chain activity, proprioceptive activation during strength and ROM training.
PNF Stretching
PNF stretching and desensitization techniques to improve balance, coordination, and kinesthetic sense. Also, neuromuscular re-education to improve movement, posture, and proprioception for sitting or standing activities.
Chiropractic Acupuncture
A mixture of Traditional Chinese Medicine 5 Element Theory, Korean Hand Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture and stimulation of trigger points relying on the Gate Theory of Pain Control.
Kinesio Taping
Kinesio Taping Technique to allow functional resistance with full range of motion and support muscles to avoid over contraction while decreasing inflammation and pain by increasing circulation and activating the endogenous analgesic system. Alleviating pain via proprioceptive stimulation, ie: Gate Theory of Pain Control.
Electric Stimulation
Nerve and muscle stimulation can be useful in any disorder in which the patient has lost or never had adequate voluntary control over skeletal muscles. It can also be used for muscles spasms and soft tissue injuries.
Ultrasound
A therapeutic treatment using high-frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries. The rise in temperature, increases blood flow, relaxes muscles spasms, massages damaged tissues and speeds the healing process.
HydroMassage
HydroMassage gives chiropractic patients the benefits of massage, without the inconveniences of getting undressed and being touched by a stranger. Similar to a powerful shower massage, without getting wet, HydroMassage water massage uses waves of heated water to provide an innovative and relaxing experience.
